Revelation 6:7,8 NCV When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!"8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill people by war, by starvation, by disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.
The UK is using the latest meeting of leaders from the G8 countries to sound the alarm over “superbugs” that are increasingly resistant to the use of antibiotics.
Scientists have stated action is necessary because of the rise worldwide of drug-resistant strains of bacteria including those that cause tuberculosis and pneumonia. Officials say the soaring rates of previously treatable diseases could turn into a public health crisis.
“Across the G8, we should regard the spread of antibiotic resistance as a global challenge that is right up there with climate change, water stress and environmental damage,” British science minister David Willetts told the Guardian newspaper. “
Drug-resistance is an inevitable side effect of using antibiotics as surviving infections will grow immune to a particular drug. While hospital observation of patients has reduced some diseases like MRSA, there’s no impact on diseases like Tuberculosis, E Coli and the pneumonia causing Klebsiella.
This is not the first time that UK officials have sounded the alarm over “superbugs.” In March Dame Sally Davies, the country’s chief medical officer, stated the untreatable infections are a “catastrophic threat” to Earth’s popularion.
