U.S. Unemployment Rises Amid Job Growth

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

Almost 157,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy last month while the unemployment rate continued to climb.

The unemployment rate climbed to 7.9% in January, up .1% from the previous month’s total. The data from the Labor Department said that an average of 181,000 jobs were created each month in 2012. However, the data did not break down to say if those were low paying, minimum wage jobs or jobs with livable wages.

Employment in construction had the largest rise with 28,000 new jobs nationwide in January. However, the labor department said the current level of construction employment is still over 2 million jobs less than the previous high in 2006.

The only other field to add more than 20,000 jobs in January was the healthcare industry as preparations continue for the implementation of Obamacare.

After a surprise report yesterday that the U.S. economy shrank .1% in the fourth quarter of the year, manufacturing jobs remained flat as they have since July 2012, indicating no recovery from the current recession.
