A tornado ripped through Granbury, Texas Wednesday night killing six people and putting at least 100 people in the hospital.
Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said that the death toll could rise as emergency management searches for 14 missing people.
“Some were found in houses,” Deeds told reporters. “Some were found around houses.”
“I saw the top of a house pulled off, with lots of debris all over the place,” local resident Jeff Mangum told the BBC. “The whole sky was spinning in a thousand directions.”
Tornadoes also struck Cleburne, Texas and in Parker County but no fatalities were reported from either twister. However, dozens of homes were destroyed or damaged.
