Spain’s Unemployment Rate Falls For First Time In Two Years

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

Spain’s record unemployment rate finally fell in the second quarter of the year although one in four Spaniards are still without a job.

The unemployment rate of 26.3% is almost a percentage point below the record high of 27.2% The rate fell amid news of an increase in tourism in the second quarter. Tourism accounts for about 10% of the Spanish GDP.

The decline in unemployment was called the “biggest since 2008” by Spain’s National Statistics Institute. The number of unemployed is below six million.

The country’s unemployment rate is still the second highest in the EU behind Greece.

The news was not all good as the country’s youth unemployment remained extremely high with 56% of the country’s 15-24 year olds unable to find jobs.
