MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said the time when Russia and the United States decided everything was in the past and expressed a willingness to discuss global problems with other countries, should that need arise.
Speaking via video link at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin said China and Germany were moving towards superpower status in terms of their political and economic clout, the Interfax news agency reported.
Ahead of Nov. 3’s U.S. presidential election, Putin said he hoped the new administration would be ready for dialogue on security and nuclear arms control.
