Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has ripped through Balochistan, the largest province in Pakistan, killing at least 30 people.
The quake struck Tuesday at 4:29 p.m. local time, around 40 miles north-east of the city of Awaran. The region is remote with smaller populations than neighboring provinces.
The quake shook cities hundreds of miles away including India’s capital of Delhi, more than 700 miles from the epicenter.
A member of the Balochistan Assembly told Reuters that 30% of the homes in the Awaran district close to the epicenter were flattened. While 30 are confirmed dead, the assembly member told Reuters many people are trapped under rubble.
Most of the residents in the region live in mud homes and only the government has concrete buildings.
This is the second deadly quake in the region this year. A 7.8 magnitude quake in April that was centered in Iran killed 35 people in the same Pakistani region.
