Nigerian Bombings Targeting Christians Kill Ten

John 16:2 They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

At least 10 people are dead after a series of bombings in Kano, Nigeria, the largest city in the northern part of the country. The blasts targeted a Christian neighborhood that has previously been attacked by the Islamic terror group Boko Haram.

Witnesses say the bombings took place around 9:30 p.m. local time in a part of the Christian district where people had gathered to enjoy the nightlife. One bomb was reportedly inside a Mercedes parked next to a kiosk selling drinks.

“After the first bomb, I threw myself into the canal (drain) to hide. There were at least three blasts,” Kolade Ade told the Associated Press.

An organization representing Nigerian Christians calls for the United States to officially declare Boko Haram a terrorist group as a result of several similar attacks.

“In my first term, about 3,000 Christians were killed. Last year alone averaged over 100 every month,” Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, told the Christian Post. “Every week I get a text message – a church burnt or a pastor was murdered or Christians were randomly rounded up on a roadside and summarily executed.”
