The Morningside Food Pantry is growing! In fact, it has grown right out of its space in the main building so it is expanding into a bigger and more accessible location. The food pantry is now located at the entrance to Morningside, just off Highway 86, in the quaint stone house, a former home made from locally quarried stone. You can’t miss it!
The food pantry is open three days a week as noted, or as needed on an emergency basis by calling (417) 779-9000.
Normal hours are:
Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Saturday 9:00 AM to Noon
The food pantry is available to families and individuals in need from the area.
In addition to food items, we also have a large inventory of paper products (paper towels, toilet tissue, baby diapers, and toiletry items) not normally covered by the food stamp program.
Recently, through the help of a Christian Cooperative, Morningside Church received a large shipment of these items to stock our pantry. The majority of the food items we receive are provided through this Cooperative, but there are many items we still receive through donations by our local community. The items needed include canned food products, dry beans, other dry goods such as pasta, crackers, flour, cornmeal, cake mixes, etc. There is a plentiful stockpile of cereals and juices, but we will accept all donations.
Volunteer workers provide the labor to keep the pantry running. Volunteers are always appreciated so if you would like to be a part of such a worthy ministry, please contact: Wendy Youngblood, Pastor Gary Adams, Mark Brodeur, or Frank Baker at (417) 779-9000.
