Militant Islamists Kill Christians In Nigeria

John 16:2  Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

“We have so devalued human life in our society that for many people it is a small thing to kill another person.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

Militant Islamists issued a statement claiming responsibility for the murder of 50 Christians in bomb attacks in Nigeria.

Boko Haram claimed the attacks were in retribution for Christians “destroying mosques” and turning others into “beer parlors and prostitution joints.”

“Let them know that now it’s time for revenge God willing,” the terrorist group said in a statement. “From now on, they either follow the right religion or there will be no peace for them.”

Red Cross figures list at least 50 people dead and 131 wounded.

The first attack came around 9 a.m. when a homicide bomber drove through a barricade at the EWCA Goodnews Wasasa Zaria church. A state official told the BBC that 24 people were killed in the attack.

The second explosion occurred at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Zaria where 10 people died and around 50 were injured.

Later that morning a final bombing happened at a church in the city of Kaduna. Thirty-two were killed and 78 injured in the final attack.

Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is forbidden,” often refers to itself as the “Nigerian Taliban.” The group’s stated goal is to overthrow the government and impose their version of Islamic law on the country.
