Gun and bomb attacks in Somalia’s capital city have left at least 19 dead.
The Islamic terrorist group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the assault on one of Mogadishu’s main court buildings. At least nine terrorists were killed as part of the assault.
The terrorists also detonated a bomb on the main route to the city’s airport killing two Turkish aid workers.
Witnesses report that the terrorists were wearing the uniform of Somali military troops.
Reporters in the city have called the violence Sunday the worst since the terrorists lost control of the capital city in 2011. Al-Shabab has lost control of most of the major cities in Somalia but have a strong presence in rural areas that provides staging grounds for terror attacks.
