On Wednesday American energy firms held a meeting about national security concerns where U.S. law officials announced that ISIS has been trying to hack the power grid.
“ISIL is beginning to perpetrate cyber attacks,” Caitlin Durkovich, assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at the Department of Homeland Security, told company executives.
Investigators didn’t reveal any details or provide any evidence to support the claims, but they did say that all attempts have been unsuccessful. They added that the terrorists lacked the right hacking technology to invade the computer systems and shut off or blow up the machines.
“Strong intent. Thankfully, low capability,” said John Riggi, a section chief at the FBI’s cyber division. “But the concern is that they’ll buy that capability.”
With hacking software available on the black markets, the FBI is now worried that ISIS and other terrorist organizations could get their hands on the right hacking software to attack power companies and grids. This would disrupt power to several U.S. homes and businesses. And the threat isn’t just ISIS; the FBI is also worried about domestic terrorists and hate groups getting their hands on the hacking technology.
U.S. officials also stated that the greatest threat to our power grid is other countries. Last year, they found malware on industrial control systems at energy companies that were traced back to the Russian government.
However, an organization taking down the entire nationwide grid – or even a section of the grid – is extremely unlikely as each grid isn’t uniform and connected like most people believe. The random patterns of the grid keep the machines and software from communicating and coordinating. It would take a large and expensive team of highly trained technical specialists to understand the layout and then hack it. Even if the team was successful, in a worst case scenario they would take out power for a small section of a major city. An entirely different cyberattack would be needed to shut down a different grid at a different plant.
The last infamous attack on a power grid was in 2013 when a sniper shot at a California energy grid substation. The attack was only for 19 minutes, but caused $15 million in damage. The Department of Homeland Security recently released a report that the attacker was likely an inside job. However, no other details were given.

My mother just received a letter last month that her banking information was hacked by China. I wonder if ISIS is working with china. We received a letter two weeks ago that our information was hacked also by china. The events are unrelated but could their be a connection. I believe the biggest threat to our national security is cyber warfare. We should be very concerned about the power grid. Furthermore if our personal information is really being protected. I am concerned because the hacking is not being discussed in the media. I am also concerned because people do no think its a threat to our national security. Do we really know the truth about anything. I am giving to God.

The power grid in the U.S is very old plus we have built more homes and businesses. The power grid hasn’t come up to meet the on growing situation. The last really big power outage in the northeast was 2003. They don’t want to spend the money to re outfit the inter structure of the power grid but they don’t mind going up the rates to all customers. It would cost a lot of money but in the long run would be beneficial to everyone and rates could be lower due to less deficiencies in repairs. But you have to think like utility companies if they rebuild all the grid after its finish there would be less work to repair like power poles,new power lines its called greed where they pass it to customers. I have always wondered why not have underground utility lines less issues with storms,or anything else. You can’t destroy what you can’t see and use fiber optics.
The grid is exposed on purpose for a time to come when the NWO will start its rise. Christians should get closer to the Holy Spirit as the persecution is coming!
The powergrids in America are severely outdated. Hackers from all over the world are trying to hack into the powergrid.
With the burning of Josephs tomb and Palestinian attacks in the holy city i believe we are at the beginning of the seven years as foretold in the Bible. Still our politicians in Washington do not see this. Guess they feel it is ok to disobey GOD’s commandment about not splitting up Israel and more importantly Jerusalem. You’re absolutely correct in your observation!! Many folk are in denial that our crooked govt would be responsible for destroying our own soil cause they’re apart of America also! But those responsible already have their escape plan in place! They are not for the people never have been! The Bible has all the answers and already prophesied these things would take place and unfortunately the Bible also warns times will get at its worse!! Life as we know it will soon come to an end and all hell will break loose!! That’s why I never voted for our president 8 yrs ago cause I discerned in my spirit something just wasn’t right about him! He’s the one supporting terrorist groups and implementing Muslim activities on American soil cause that was his agenda from the beginning!!! Recently we passed by a huge electrical power towers and we noticed that the gate to the opening was rusted and stuck open…anyone could go into their and cause lots of problems and thousands of people would loose power for a long time…How come not one person running for President said not a single word about updating our power grids across the U.S.A.? We have heard that our country has 3rd world electric grids. All we can do is call upon heaven and ask God for protection. Rend the heavens and come down O Lord YESHUA/JESUS.
