Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).
“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East. Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”
-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”
Three NATO soldiers and a local interpreter were among 21 killed when a homicide bomber attacked a joint NATO-Afghan military checkpoint. The bomber drove a motorcycle covered in explosives into a bazaar near the checkpoint.
At least 15 of the dead were civilians. Another 35 people were injured. Four of the dead were all members of one family.
Another six civilians died in Logar province when an insurgent placed roadside bomb exploded as a tractor pulling a wagon full of people drove past it’s location.
This is the second time in a month that homicide bombers have tried to attack NATO troops in the city of Khost. The city is close to the Pakistan border and many US troops are housed at the base.
Haqqani militants are believed to be behind the assaults based on their track record of bombings in the area. The al-Qaeda linked group is also responsible for a series of bombings in the country’s capital of Kabul.
