Rev 6:5,6 NCV When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse, and its rider held a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard something that sounded like a voice coming from the middle of the four living creatures. The voice said, "A quart of wheat for a day's pay, and three quarts of barley for a day's pay, and do not damage the olive oil and wine!"
Less than a week after their Prime Minister said they would no longer take austerity measures because of an improving economic situation, Greek officials have said unemployment has reached new highs.
The debt-ridden nation’s unemployment rate rose to 26% in the final part of 2012, up from 24.8% in the third quarter of the year and 20.7% a year in 2011.
The news was worse for workers under 25. The report says 57.8% of workers under 25 are unable to find jobs. The unemployment rate for women was over 6% higher than for men.
Government officials blamed the increase on the austerity measures they have vowed to cut because of the impact on the nation. Greece has been depending on infusions of cash from outside sources such as the European Union and International Monetary Fund to stave off bankruptcy.
