Greece Hit With Massive Flooding

Matthew 24:10,11 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

Hours of heavy rain and thunderstorms caused massive flooding in the capital of Greece.

Athens officials were forced to close underpasses and subway stations due to the massive flash flooding. The train and tram network also was forced to close due to the waters.

The flooding became so intense that parked cars were swept away by the flood waters. Fire department officials reported over 600 calls to drain water from homes and businesses. The fire chief called it the worst storms to hit Athens since 1961.

While some roads are still closed due to ankle deep water, many others are blocked by abandoned cars that were caught in the flash flood. Tow trucks have been dispatched to remove them from roadways in an attempt to return traffic patterns to near normal.

One death has been reported and the area remains under a state of emergency.
