Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
<blockquote>“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East. Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”

The UN General Assembly is taking the rare step of condemning the UN Security Council for not taking action in the Syrian civil war. The Assembly is trying to pressure the Security Council to intervene in the war which has left over 20,000 dead.
The action follows yesterday’s resignation of Kofi Annan as special envoy for the UN and the Arab League. Analysts believe the resignation shows that the diplomatic and political process has failed in the nation.
Government forces on Friday used tanks and armored vehicles to attack the last rebel stronghold in the capital of Damascus.
At least 15 people were reported killed in a Palestinian refugee camp in Yarmouk when stray mortars from government troops struck the camp. The terrorist group Hamas condemned the attack as a “heinous crime”.
The fighting is continuing in the country’s largest city of Aleppo where rebels have now claimed to control half the city.
Russia and China have been blocking attempts by the Security Council to impose sanctions against the Syrian regime. The two nations have vetoed three separate resolutions to the crisis citing the action could be seen as regime change imposed from outside forces.
