Eurozone Unemployment At Record High

Revelation 6:5,6 NCV When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse, and its rider held a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard something that sounded like a voice coming from the middle of the four living creatures. The voice said, "A quart of wheat for a day's pay, and three quarts of barley for a day's pay, and do not damage the olive oil and wine!"

The number of unemployed in the 17-nation Eurozone reached a record 18 million in July according to statistics released by the EU statistics agency.

Eurostat said that the 18,002,000 jobless total is the highest since record keeping began in 1995. The percentage of 11.3% remained unchanged only because the data for June was revised to a higher number.

Spain had the highest level of unemployment at 25.1%. Austria came in lowest with 4.5%. Compared to one year ago, the unemployment rate increased in 16 of the 27 countries. Greece’s unemployment jumped from 16.8% to 23.1%.

Spain and Greece, both struggling with incredible national debts, had over 50% unemployment among citizens under 25 years old.
