Drone Strikes Kills Taliban Second-In-Command

Matthew 24:10,11 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

A U.S. drone strike is suspected to be the cause of death for the Pakistani Taliban’s second-in-command according to the BBC.

A senior Taliban official told the BBC that Waliur Rehman was killed when missiles destroyed a home near Miranshah in the northwest part of the country. The Pakistani Taliban had originally claimed only a local commander was killed but senior sources have contradicted the initial reports.

The strike was the first drone action by U.S. troops in six weeks.

A $5 million bounty was on Rehman’s head because of his contributions to an attack on a U.S. base in 2009 that killed seven CIA agents.

Rehman’s death has been reported on previous occasions but this is the first time senior officials with the Taliban has confirmed it.

The region along the Pakistan border is a known hideout for al-Qaeda terrorists.
