A man who was killed today by FBI agents in Florida implicated Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bomber killed during his flight from law enforcement, in a triple homicide outside Boston in 2011.
Ibragim Todashev said that Tsarnaev and he slashed the throats of three people in Waltham, Massachusetts. The murder investigation had gone cold until it was reported after the Marathon bombing that Tsarnaev was friends with one of the Waltham victims.
In the middle of questioning today with the FBI, Todashev grabbed a weapon and attacked the agents. He was shot and killed by one of the attacked agents. According to FBI spokesmen, the agent suffered minor injuries.
Todashev, a Chechen like the bombers, was in the U.S. after gaining political asylum in 2008. He had been under investigation by the FBI for the last month.
