An attack on the Yemeni Intelligence Headquarters in Aden has killed 14 people and injured dozens.
Government officials said the attack was “well planned” and included rocket propelled grenades and automatic weapons. The assault included a simultaneous attack on two sides of the building.
Yemeni military forces assisted by US troops just concluded a two month offensive against al-Qaeda. The terrorist group was driven out of towns in the southern part of the province but escaped into the mountains where they continue to make attacks.
Eleven of those killed were soldiers asleep in their bunks when hand grenades were thrown into their barracks windows.
The attackers escaped into the mountains after the attack.
