Anne Gimenez along with her husband, John, founded the Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1968 when they were traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida and stopped in Virginia to appear on The 700 Club.  The Prophetic word declared, “…I am sending you to a people you know not of…” inspiring them to trust God for clear direction.  John Gimenez felt compelled to seek an empty church building as a sign of God’s confirmation.

Incredibly, a church building became available in Norfolk for revival services which was soon overflowing with spiritually hungry people. Together, Anne and John helped to open ministries for drug addicts and unwed mothers, established Bible schools and planted over 500 churches internationally.

Anne was a full time evangelist before her marriage and when John went home to be with Jesus, she was confirmed as Presiding Bishop of the Rock Ministerial Fellowship in 2008.

Anne co-authored the book Upon this Rock with her late husband John and has since written many books on her own such as The Emerging Christian Woman, Marking Your Children for God, Born to Preach and most recently Resurrection Life Now.
