Encouragement for the Hurting

Hello.  I work in the Prayer Room at Morningside, home of the Jim Bakker TV Show.  We are located near Blue Eye, Missouri.  We handle many prayer requests that come in by phone, email, letters and walk-ins.  There are a lot of hurting people out there!

Also, there are many different types of hurts – more than can be mentioned.  However, the most common needs are for healing, finances, family relationships including salvation for family members, spouse betrayal in various ways including by social media, texting, etc.  We receive many requests for employment needs, issues with co-workers, family members in prison, demonic spirits, etc.

The Prayer Team is very devoted to praying for people.  We do our best to show compassion, love and caring.  You may be one of the hurting today, and I want to encourage you in the Lord.

For me, I try to have the caller laughing by the end of our phone conversation in order to just get that person’s thoughts away from their troubles for a few minutes.  Of course, we know where to go for help first, and that is in prayer to God, our Heavenly Father, who is our hope.  And, always end the prayer by asking in Jesus’ precious Name.

In John 14:6, Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”   NKJV

I also encourage the caller to go to God directly and humbly.  I have some favorite scriptures that I give to a caller for encouragement as follows:

Isaiah 41:10 — “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

1 Peter 5:6-7 – “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.  Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

James 5:15 – “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.  And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

Romans 15:13 – “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope.”

We don’t understand, sometimes, why God allows us to go through difficult situations; but, we must remember that our earthly home is temporary.  We need to focus on Jesus, our Lord and Savior and our eternal home in Heaven where there will be no more pain or sorrow and we will have new bodies, Yea!  Also, remember how Jesus suffered and died on a cross, shed His blood for us and took on all our sins so we could be saved.  Thank you, Jesus!

A couple of things to concentrate on are, “Stay calm and trust in God” and “Let go and let God.”  He always works things out for the best for those who love Him.

Romans 8:28—“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Remember that God loves you and He is your hope.  Be thankful and praise Him.

Love and a Hug, Charlene Green (Char)

  3. Let me tell you the timing of Char’s email was perfect. In November 2014 my grandmother passed away…..about one year after my dad. My uncle, which is my mom’s brother, started calling wanting information on the land and house titles and such. Very odd!!!! Come to find out he was going behind my mom’s back AND AGAINST THE WILL AND TRUST trying to get my grandparents house put in his name and sell off a back piece of property with his “girlfriend” he was close to succeeding when God stopped him. Escrow told the realtor he could not do this because he was not in charge of the Trust. This made my uncle furious. He threatened my mom to take all the money, claimed we made him homeless when fact is my grandparents once beautiful home was declared condemned by the county. He refused to work with us to find him a new place. Twice my mom wired money to escrow for him and twice he canceled. It has been a nightmare. Loooooong story short we gave my uncle his half of the money, thru an attorney, and have heard nothing from him since about the end of October 2015. Just continue to pray for us that this is all final. We now got a bill for property tax because after saying he was paying for it with my grandmother’s money we found out he indeed was not. However thank the Lord we filled out a form and the amounts were greatly reduced. We are hoping this is the end of it. Dear Lord PLEASE
