The conference was reported as a blessed time and a huge success. There were over 200 Pastors in attendance when Pastor Jim Bakker preached a dynamic message titled “Woe! Woe! Woe!” There are approximately 106 woes mentioned in the bible. “Woe” in the Bible means grief and/or torment. Pastor Jim went over some of the key “woes” in the bible (Ecclesiastes 4:3, Isaiah 33:11, Jeremiah 23:33, Ezekiel 34:1). The emphasis was placed on two of the strongest “woes”: to those that call evil good and good evil, and to the shepherds that take care of themselves and not their flock.
Pastor Jim also said that everyone will go through pits in life, just look at David. The PIT is also quite descriptive for the intensive schooling required for Prophets in Training or Preachers in Training.
During the conference, Pastor Jim was honored for financial support and humanitarian aid to Morehouse, Missouri during the extreme conditions brought about by this Spring’s flooding of that area. The Mayor of Morehouse, Pete Leija, presented Pastor Jim with the Key to the City and the Humanitarian Award for 2011 Flood Relief. Pastor Jim also received another award from Hope International for helping to restore the town of Morehouse.
Pastor Jim and Lori also visited the amazing warehouse at Hope International which is 80,000 square feet full of everything imaginable that you would need in an emergency situation: furniture, clothing, toys, food, water, building supplies, and appliances. Pastor Jim and Lori were delighted to see furniture and building supplies donated by Morningside Church.
You might remember “Kenny”, a Dexter resident interviewed on a previous Pastor Jim Bakker Show segment. Kenny’s house was under water at the time. Pastor Jim and Lori visited Kenny’s house to see the progress. As a result of the help he received, Kenny now attends church weekly and has rededicated his life to the Lord!
