Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).
Just a day after Boko Haram terrorists bombed a Christian neighborhood in Kano, Nigeria that killed at least 28 people and injured dozens, the government has announced a troop pullback from Mali to help restore peace to the region.
Nigerian troops had been assisting an international force in driving Islamic terrorists out of Mali.
Defense ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade said that some of the troops would be immediately redeployed to the northern part of the country. At least one battalion, or 700 troops, would be brought back from Mali out of 1,200 Nigeria had sent to the region.
Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist group whose name means “Western education is forbidden,” has been attempting to overthrow the government and create an Islamic state since 2009. The terrorists have targeted schools, including burning children and teachers alive inside school buildings and shooting those who try to escape the flames.
Kano neighbors three states in northern Nigeria that had been placed under a state of emergency by President Goodluck Jonathan because of Boko Haram’s violence. Over 2,000 have been killed by the Islamists since they began their activities almost four years ago.
