The JFK Presidential Library and Museum was evacuated this afternoon after an explosion and fire that are being investigated as possiblly related to blasts near the Boston Marathon finish line.
Police Chief Edward F. Davis said there was an explosion at the library.
The fire started just after 3 p.m., said library director Thomas Putnam. Earlier this afternoon, Putnam said it appeared to have been related to a mechanical problem. The fire was quickly extinguished.
