A former Obama administration advisor wrote in Sunday’s New York Times “we need death panels.”
Steven Rattner, former advisor to the Obama administration’s Treasury Secretary, wrote “elderly Americans are not entitled to every conceivable medical procedure or pharmaceutical.”
Rattner continued to lay out how the idea of curtailing end of life care to elderly is something that is necessary to control the costs attached to Medicare. He stated that a quarter of Medicare’s budget is dedicated to treating people during their last year of life.
“No one wants to lose an aging parent,” Rattner wrote. “And with price out of the equation, it’s natural for patients and their families to try every treatment, regardless of expense or efficacy. But that imposes an enormous societal cost that few other nations have been willing to bear.”

Yes, it’s in the Obama health care law. Remember the 64 yr. old lady in Oregon who could not get Medicare to pay for her cancer medication, but DID offer her a physician who would assist her in dying? Only 2 choices. Our Heavely Father must be so angry with this generation of people. How much longer can He wait before He tells His Son to go after His Bride so that He can bring this sinful nation to it’s knees?

A reading of the Obama Health Care will show you that the authority to do just that already exist. At the age of 71 I find that being on social security with out other income I cant afford the 20% that I would be responsible for any how. So I will not be using the system at all for a final illness.
Dear Lord have mercy on us all. Since when did Mr. Rather become God?? This is HORRIBLE! What’s he going to do when he gets old? God put in us the will to live. He will be regretting he ever said what he has about Medicare. Time to intercede for our nation and leaders as never before.
That is a terrible comment; that is when the elderly need compassion; they are having people live longer through medicine and then when they need to die with dignity, take away the treatments; maybe if they changed some of the restrictions, like going into a nursing home rehab for a certain amount of days after hospitalization, they could afford it; weren’t the elderly the ones who helped to keep America going years ago? Why cast them out and allow so much other needless spending; lets quite giving BILLONS to overseas companies for solar power that go bankrupt one year later!!!
This is just plain scary to think of this happening. I can see the dollar matters more than human life…but that is what is happening especially in these last days. I just lost my 88 year old father last year…I hate to think of him being put in front of a death panel or even my Mom who is still here and she is 87 years old.
If the LEADERS, Congress(past and present), Senate(past and present) and Supreme Court Judges(past and present), would have to live by the laws that they have passed for all the US Citizens to live by, including Medicare. And they had to give up their RETIREMENT AT FULL PAY and live off of regular retirement plans, Medicare wouldn’t be in all the trouble it is in now and our debt wouldn’t be as much. Also they need to stop giving FULL Medicare Benefits to people that haven’t paid into it.
